Group Service

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine is only able to continue operations in Maine with the robust support from our volunteers. Volunteers make our Houses feel like a “home-away-from-home.”

Service groups can help with tasks like: Deep Cleaning, Event Volunteering, and Special Projects. The group leader must be 18 years or older.

Special Projects

Groups coming to the House will assist with special projects based on the time of year, current House needs, and a number of individuals participating. Projects may include deep cleaning, raking, reorganizing, painting, etc.

Event Volunteering 

When we host fundraising events in the Portland & Bangor area, volunteer support is crucial! We may need anywhere from 2-15 volunteers for large and small events throughout each year.

Special events are full of energy and exciting to be a part of. Tasks include setting up, assisting in carrying out the day, and cleaning up for fundraisers and events such as Parking for a Purpose, Luncheons, Benefit Auctions, Basketball Games, and Awards Dinners, etc.

Deep Cleaning

Cleaning is a regular occurrence at the Ronald McDonald House; however, groups can be most helpful in assisting with larger deep cleaning needs. Groups may help with spring cleaning projects, deep clean guest rooms and common areas, and help clean, move or reorganize specific spaces.
