The Teen Ambassador program is designed to attract a dynamic, service-oriented group of young individuals who have an interest not only in helping Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine but in improving their community.
The Teen Ambassador program provides a vehicle for young people to become involved in RMHC of Maine, merging civic engagement and leadership development for high school students. By engaging these motivated teens, we bring new energy into our mission-based work while developing future leaders of our communities. The Teen Ambassador program is operated and administered by trained RMHC of Maine volunteers, adult Advisors, who will oversee the teens participation in events and activities.
As a Teen Ambassador, you will have the opportunity to participate in various events and activities throughout the year. Your involvement may include providing meals for families staying at RMHC of Maine, coordinating a signature fundraising event, collecting needed supplies for our Houses, participating in RMHC of Maine fundraising events, and promoting awareness of RMHC of Maine and its mission.
The Teen Ambassadors will meet approximately eight times during the school year and participate in 3 to 4 service projects. We estimate an average time commitment of eight hours per month for a period of one year with the option to renew for additional years beyond that, provided the teen participant successfully meets his or her responsibilities. All applicants must be a student entering grades 9-12. Please make sure that you will be able to make the time for these activities as participation is critical to success.
This year, we are also looking for Advisors of the program. If you are an individual looking to oversee and lead a group of driven teens, please contact Alicia Milne at 207-780-6282 or by email at email@example.com!
