On June 2nd, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine held their 11th Annual Purses with Purpose, etc. Fun’Raiser to benefit the families they serve across Maine and New Hampshire. The Woodlands Club patio was filled with nearly 200 delectable auction items which 250 women awed over while bidding. Designers including Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Steve Madden, Banana Republic, and Mary Frances along with locally known designers such as The Ropes, Rough and Tumble, Casco Totes, and L.L. Bean contributed to make the auction such a great success. Auction donations were also received from various community members and local department stores. D. Cole Jewelers generously donated a sterling silver moonstone necklace with matching sterling silver bezel set cubic zirconia earrings as well as a $100 gift certificate to be raffled off.
After socializing and browsing the silent auction, guests were invited into the Ballroom at the Woodlands Club for lunch and comedy of Maine’s Funniest Mom, Karen Morgan. The tables were beautifully decorated with centerpieces created by Alaina Marie with Harmon’s & Barton’s flowers and paired with a bottle of red or white wine from Central Distributors. With the astounding generosity of our community, over $53,000 was raised to support our core mission of keeping families close while facing one of life’s greatest challenges.
